About Village ID/IoT Labs:
Village idiot labs (VIL) is a not-for-profit that was founded on these simple pillars:
To promote awareness of security vulnerabilities and defenses against such vulnerabilities;
To advance education by providing workshops, seminars and training programs on existing, new and Emerging security topics.
The two main outreach events are the IoT village and RFID village. VIL’s villages are part of various information security conferences around Canada and the USA. Most recent events include Derbycon, Defcon, and BSides Ottawa, and a few of our upcoming events are RSA and BSides Vancouver. The spirit behind the villages is to provide An open, welcome, and educational environment where anyone can ask questions, participate, and Even observe others!
