This session will examine some of the research behind ethical decision making, how environmental and social factors can influence the decisions people make and what it means to be an ethical investigator. It will explore some of the ethical dilemmas investigators face in the course of their work and how ethical decisions are made in these scenarios.
Presenter Bio
Dawn Lomer is the Managing Editor at i-Sight Software, an Ottawa company that makes software for managing investigations. She writes articles on investigations-related topics for the company blog and industry publications. She also organizes and hosts i-Sight webinars on topics related to investigation strategy, ethics, corporate security and workplace misconduct. She has interviewed dozens of subject matter experts on ethics for articles, blog posts and webinars and has written on ethics for the i-Sight blog and Compliance and Ethics Professional magazine. She is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and has completed the ACFE’s supplementary course on Ethics for Investigators.
